Joseph Kahn directed this music video – colored by New Hat’s Beau Leon – for Simon Cowell’s star-studded charity single “Everybody Hurts.” Shot in several countries on multiple formats, the video was a YouTube sensation and helped raise funds for victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Coming to New Hat after a successful run as Partner/Colorist at The Syndicate, Beau Leon is a four-time MVPA Award-winner, who was formerly on staff at 525. At New Hat, Beau is reunited with his Riot compatriot, Co-Founder/EP Darby Walker. His latest work is a diverse mix of spot, music video, and longform projects, including HBO (Noam Murro, dir.), Kings of Leon (Floria Sigismondi, dir.), Chase Bank (Michael Hausman, dir.), India.Ari (David LaChappelle, director), the documentary “Sister Corita,” and a PSA via Children’s Bureau. Beau’s 2010 credits include two spots in Super Bowl XLIV, for Dockers and Lexus.
