Bandito Brothers: Director Gavin Bowden Has a Powerful Effect

The best thing you can say after returning from a complicated car shoot is, “We didn’t wreck the hero car.” In the case of a new spot helmed by Mike McCoy of Bandito Brothers, that isn’t quite true. In fact, McCoy and his team recently “pipe-ramped” a Corvette into a bullfighting ring, and that’s after sliding around San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, inflicting punishment on the automobile. The silver lining is that the commercial isn’t for the car itself – it’s part of a global campaign for Mt. Dew – and the hero car is not exactly a vintage Corvette. However, the model in the spot is still sought-after for its power and handling, making it a tremendous asset to the filmmakers.
