Culver City, CA, October 15, 2010 – The Bandito Brothers directorial roster has expanded with the addition of twin siblings: The Polish Brothers (The Astronaut Farmer, Jackpot, Northfork). Michael and Mark Polish (pict., l-r) burst onto the independent film scene in 1999 with their first feature, “Twin Falls Idaho,” an atmospheric tale of conjoined twins, which they wrote, directed and starred in. Sony Pictures Classics won the bidding war for theatrical distribution of the film, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and established them as a unique creative voice in cinema.
The Polish Brothers join Bandito following brief tenures at Green Dot and RSA – and on the heels of their latest effort: shot in two weeks on a whirlwind tour through the most romantic Old World cities of France, “For Lovers Only” is inspired by Claude Laloucheʼs A Man and a Woman and encapsulates the spirit of the French New Wave. Principal photography was completed in under two weeks with a bare bones crew and on a shoestring budget, and will be seen in theaters all over the world in 2011.
