RagingArtistsTV Launch is a Matter of Opinion

In the course of more than two decades spent working with brands, agencies, and artists, I have often served as a spokesperson, conveying the messages of others. If you do PR long enough, people begin to ask your opinion instead of merely giving it to you.

This is the fun part, and the genesis of our new YouTube channel, RagingArtistsTV.

As Raging Artists evolves into a full service ad agency with a specialization in original content and Web-based campaigns, helping to shape the image of brands spanning entertainment, fashion, and technology, it is more important than ever that we share our perspective with clients and our audience. So it is fitting that our maiden RagingArtistsTV project is “Transformers 3 Hits $1 Billion,” a review of the third film this summer to hit that mark (following Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2). The objective was to get our entire team involved, from writing and appearing in the video, to handling production and post.

What began as a fun office project has inspired our staff to submit ideas for more webisodes – ranging from music and product critiques to sketch comedy. We’re thinking of calling the show “Raging Review” so as not to limit ourselves to criticism; why not just craft our own showcase?

Along with my partners Justo and Ernie, we support this notion with one caveat: each video must covey a point of view. After all, we demand the same of our clients, so we have to eat our own dog food, as Dick Van Patten might say (Dick’s Natural Balance dog food is fit for human consumption, not that we advocate testing the theory).

August and September will see the launches of some exciting new campaigns from RA and its clients. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy “Transformers 3 Hits $1 Billion,” and we welcome your comments. You can also submit User Rants (our version of viewer mail) to our Media Relations Associate Christina Kang (Christina@RagingArtists.com), who presides over RagingArtistsTV. Who knows? Your opinion might just inspire a webisode.
