Sportie L.A. and Soles4Souls Collect 1,000 Pairs of Shoes for Haitian Relief Effort

WHAT: Sportie LA and Soles4Souls shoe charity are collecting shoes for the victims of the Haitian earthquake. Students at Lycee International De Los Angeles French School heard about the drive and started collecting shoes for the victims. The students have collected approximately 1,000 pairs of shoes and now the students are going to drop them off at the Sportie LA Boutique on Melrose this Friday afternoon. The students will tape messages in French to be sent to the people of Haiti at their school during an assembly at 11:30 am. After that, students will then load the truck and head to the boutique to donate the shoes.

WHO: Sportie LA co-owner Orna Amzaleg will be present to thank the students for their efforts. The 6 student committee who initiated the efforts, along with Jonathon Allen, will also be present to drop off the shoes. The shoe boutique is currently collecting funds and shoe donations at all of their LA locations. All donations will be used by Soles4Souls for the Haitian relief effort.
