Bart Timmer has helmed a host of memorable spot projects, including 2009′s Heineken "Walk-in Fridge" (aka "Housewarming"), and his Gold Clio-winning "Keep it Clean" ad for Volkswagen in 2008. Other recent work includes spots for Cup A Soup, Tempo Team, and Holland Casino.

Bart signed with Outsider in 2006OUT - BTimmer, directing several spots for KFC via BBH/London. "Acupuncture," for insurance company Centraal Beheer via DDB/Amsterdam, garnered extensive notices in the ad trades. The spot, produced by Czar/Amsterdam, features a man who visits an acupuncturist just as the building is going up in flames. As is the case with much of Bart’s work, this commercial boasts an impressive mix of spot-on performances, arresting production design, and clever storytelling.

Bart, who jumped into spotmaking while studying film in his native Holland, signed with CCCP for representation prior to joining parent company Czar.

While his many talents are on display in spots for Amstel ("Amstelgate" via Doon & Dickson, "Handymen" via PMSVW/Y&R), McDonald’s ("Shoppen" via DDB Amsterdam), and more, Bart’s eye for casting is always a standout. "You have to believe in your actors and their characters," he explains. "I love directing actors, and even in thirty seconds I like to give them a chance to evolve."
